Each year, Live Oak Elementary School recognizes National Red Ribbon Week. At Live Oak, we celebrate Red Ribbon Week by encouraging students to focus on making positive and healthy choices.
Celebrate Red Ribbon Week by participating in our daily events for the 2023 Red Ribbon Week at Live Oak! See below for details.

* The class with the highest percentage of students who WALK to school on Wednesday will win the “Spirit Wear” competition. In case of a tie, the class with the highest percentage of students who are wearing sports gear or Live Oak spirit wear will win.
* Families who live outside of the walking zone may park their cars at the Tiffany Roberts Sports Park lot and walk their children to the blacktop. This distance will count as a “WALK” to school.
DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day: Saturday, October 28th
The Drug Enforcement Agency National Prescription Drug Take Back Day (October 28th, 10 am - 2 pm) provides a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription and over-the-counter drugs. Collection sites are found throughout the Bay Area. Throwing medicines down the toilet, the drain, or in the trash is harmful to the environment.
There is also a Pharmaceutical Disposal Kiosk located in the lobby of the San Ramon Police Department, 2401 Crow Canyon Road. Sharps may be disposed of at the SRV Fire District's Administrative Office, at 1500 Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon.
Red Ribbon Week will take place 10/23 to 10/31 . The theme for this special week is "Be Kind To Your Mind. Live Drug Free.™"
Live Oak's resident Cub Scouts (Pack 997) will hang red ribbons around Live Oak Elementary to remind all of us to make healthy choices.
